Abstract

The article examines the representation of history in the State Central Museum of contemporary history of Russia, examines the history of the Museum, his team of employees, management structure and funding. Special attention is focused on the Museum exhibition, describes its visual component, is also discussed in detail one of the departments of the Museum "Presnya" and the conflict over the exhibition of this Department, which was devoted to the anniversary of the events of 1993 On the example of the conflict describes the basic principles of the politics of memory.
