Abstract
In this article we present the results of exploratory research on the topic of virtual memorials and communications, which occurs "around" such memorials in the Russian segment of the Internet. The emergence of new technologies affects the processes associated with the transfer of historic memory. We see the Internet website of the veterans of the war in Afghanistan as a place of memory, exploring the statements of its users, and think about the reasons that force people to look for other memories on the Internet and carry back a piece of their memories. According to the study, we assume that the conditions of dissociation in the real space and the lack of official discourse on significant events of history, the process of transmission of historical memory is, in particular, and on the Internet.
